The sweet sound of love!

Today was a very exciting, and much anticipated day for Matt and I...we had our first OB appointment! We were a little bit nervous (as to be expected, I think) but as soon as we got there we couldn't be anything but excited! Everyone was so nice, and made us feel like we'd been coming there all along.

Our appointment was early (early for us!) at 830am, but the time flew by. We started with a personal and family history session with a nurse, then on to peeing in a cup. Then the nurse took us to our exam room and told me to put on the always flattering white/blue gown and get ready for a "full exam" (at this point Matt opted to leave the room!). Then it was on to the poking and prodding, then on to the stir-ups, and then...Matt came back in the room! Now this is the amazing part Ü She squirted some jelly on my stomach and placed a little gadget right over that little growing baby in there...and a few seconds later, we could hear our baby's heart! Beating away...so fast, and so strong, and so healthy! And so real Ü It was the most amazing thing I've ever heard...neither one of us could hold back our tears. Tears of joy, and amazement, and relief. We've known for several weeks now that there is a baby growing inside of me, but for the first time today, it no longer seemed like a dream...it's real! And we know, because we heard it with our own ears Ü
