Good morning! Happy Wednesday!
Matt and I awoke this morning to the sound of a cow bellowing right outside our bedroom window! Normally the cows aren't in the field in front of our house (the hay's ready to be cut), but one smart little fella decided he'd break thru the fence in the hopes of fresh grass and a new adventure. Well, the problem is, he didn't know how to get back once the thrill was over! So, he moo-ed. And moo-ed. And moo-ed! At 6 o'clock in the morning. Yes, it was 6:00am. He continued his sounding-off until about 8:00am when my uncle came and got him back in the fence with the others. Then a little before 9:00am a tractor started...the guys from Steibrs' farm had come to cut the hay in all of the fields. At this point I knew that any chance of ignoring the world and sleeping in had gone...time to get up! Oh, and there was also an annoying little fly that kept buzzing my face...Grr! I hate flies! Anyway, I got up, let the dogs out and decided to sit outside on the porch and eat my bowl of cereal while watching the tractor go around the field. It was a really nice morning! Shortly after, Matt came out and joined me, and then Cheri and Peter came walking down the driveway...Peter wanted to see the tractor too! So, we all enjoyed a nice morning outside on the porch! When the tractor was on it's final round in the field, we saw something moving around in the cut hay...and then it spread it's enormous wings and took flight! It was a beautiful hawk! It went soaring over the field (with some poor shmuck in it's clutches!) and perched right on top of one of the big trees that border the fence-line. These are the things I'm going to miss...things that you can only experience when your only neighbor is nature. What a great way to start the day Ü
