Hi there! It's been awhile since I've posted...I guess I've just been a little bit lazy, but we have been quite busy also.
Last Saturday (May 12th) our good friends Jeff and Debbie got married! Matt stood up for Jeff as a groomsmen, as well as a few other good friends. It was fun to get together with everyone...we don't do it as much as we used to! I guess that's what happens when everyone starts getting married and becoming parents Ü It was fun to get dressed up and have some fun with our friends...and the guys didn't look too shabby in their tuxes either! Woot-woo!
A Happy belated Mother's Day to all the moms and moms-to-be! There are a lot of us in both categories! We spent the morning at church with the family at a nice service, and then The Men's Club from the church made a delicious breakfast for all the ladies, including pancakes, eggs, champagne, virgin pina coladas and even a fruit dessert! Yumm! Good job on the pina coladas Jay Ü Later that afternoon my family helped me celebrate my 30th birthday with a BBQ over at Cheri and Jay's house. We had beef tri-tip from Stewarts (de-licious!), garlic mashed potatoes (one of my favorites for the last 3 months!), corn on the cob, and french bread. It was just what I wanted! I got a few very nice cards and gifts, and then Abbie and Peter helped me blow out my candles! It was a good thing it was just us family members, cuz Peter tends to spit a little when he blows...this time it was more than a little and made it all the way to the cake Ü
Tuesday, was our 18 week OB appointment. It was a quick one...nothing too exciting to tell. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat again (which we always look forward to!) and it's strong and right where it's supposed to be...about 157 beats/minute. You could also hear the baby moving around quite a bit. I haven't been able to feel the baby move yet, which should be something that will happen any time now...and I'm really looking forward to it! I keep waiting for those little flutters...one of these days! On the 30th of this month (less than 2 weeks!) we'll have our 20 week ultrasound! We've already gotten lots of opinions on whether this baby will be a boy or a girl, but hopefully we'll be able to find out for sure! We are both so excited...we can barely wait!!!
After our doctor's appointment on Tuesday, Matt and I met with a builder that we met last year when our house was still on the market for sale. We really liked a house he had built and were both really impressed with him and his work. Unfortunately at the time, someone else loved the house too and was able to make an offer before our house sold. Well, as it turns out, this same builder is now taking orders for pre-sales on homes in the same neighborhood! So, we picked a lot and a floor plan, and signed a contract to have a home built! The home will be in Rainier in a neighborhood with all new homes. It has 1867 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 3 car garage...oh, and our favorite part, it's a rambler! It will sit on a lot of about 1/3 acre, so the yard will be a nice size, and there will be a nice, big, covered patio in the back. Matt and I will have to take on the task of picking out all of the interior/exterior colors...cabinetry, countertops, tile backsplashes, floors, carpet, paint, among others. I think it will be a hard task when it actually comes down to decision time, but we are looking forward to putting a personal touch on our new home. It'll be just what we want Ü
Well, after sitting here for a half hour, I have to pee. And I think I might need to eat again...weird! Although I feel like I never stop eating, I still haven't gained any pregnancy weight. I gained 2 pounds at my last appointment, and am now 2 pounds away from my starting weight! I guess that's one good thing about being sick all those months. Maybe I'll have less weight to lose at the end!
Have a great day, and a wonderful weekend! XOXO Ü
