Happy Father's Day Ü

Here's what Matt got for his very first Daddy-to-be Day! Of course if you know Matt, you know that the first was definitely his favorite. He asked if that's what we were going to be bringing our daughter home from the hospital in. Umm, no. Anyway, me being more sentimental, I absolutely loved this book when I saw it and had to buy it. It brought tears to my eyes thinking of all the memories that we have yet to create. I also thought of my own dad, and how much he has meant to me in my life. My dad has always been there, no matter what. Even if I was in bigger trouble than I thought I could ever be in, my dad was always there with encouragement, and support. Do better next time. Don't make the same mistakes twice. I'll love you no matter what. And no matter what my dad liked, I liked it to. And you know how they say that a girl marries someone that reminds her of her father?? Well, sometimes I can't believe how much Matt and my dad have in common! I can't help but think that our little girl will be in love with everything daddy, too. I've always been a daddy's girl. Still am Ü

From Gregory E. Lang "Why A Daughter Needs A Dad"

A Daughter Needs a Dad...

to teach her that her value as a person is more than the way she looks.

who will never think she is too old to need him.

so she will know what it is like to be somebody's favorite.

to be the standard against which she will judge all men.

to carry her just because she wants to be carried.

to show her that all boys are not like the one who hurt her.

who gives her refuge in a home secured with faith.

to fix her favorite things.

to teach her that her role in a family is greater than the work she does.

to stand with her on the day she marries the man she hopes will be just like her father.

And my favorite...

A daughter needs a dad because without him she will have less in her life than she deserves.

Hope all you dads and dads-to-be have a great day! You deserve it Ü
