Back in the saddle again!

Oh wow...it's good to be back! After 6 days of our Internet being down, I've been feeling a little lost. It feels like so much has happened...here's a quick rundown...

*Thursday - left work early with some pregnancy related issues (the not-being-able-to-sit-down-in-my-chair kind of issues. Ouch.)

*Friday - stayed home and stayed off my hind-end. The highlight of my day was Abbie stopping by to show me her adorable new pink glasses with the pink "purse" case.

*Saturday - feeling much better at this point...Preparation H is a God-send. Hemorrhoids suck.

*Sunday - My baby shower!! My Aunt Mary hosted a really fun shower and I have to say it was the best day I've had in a long time! It was SOOO much fun getting to spend a whole day talking about our baby with the people I love most...and I have to say that we got some pretty great gifts! I didn't take any pictures with my own camera, but hopefully I'll be getting some soon so I can post a few Ü

*Monday - Our 2 year anniversary Ü Matt and I had a really nice dinner at the Falls Terrace Restaurant in Olympia. We talked about how fast 2 years has gone, and reminisced about our wedding day...what a great day it was! Mostly we talked about how far we've come, the things we've accomplished, and all that we have to look forward to. Everyday that we've been married our lives have been richer and fuller. I never thought I'd meet and fall in love with someone so perfect...perfect for me. But I did. And he did. And the rest is history...well, 2 years of history anyway Ü

...Wait, let me back up. Earlier in the day (on Monday) my poor mom had to go to the oral surgeon and have 7 teeth pulled. Yes, SEVEN. I drove her there since they were putting her out for the surgery, and it was quite a long day. We waited in the consultation room for about an hour before they called her back. I kissed her and told her I loved her and that I'd be waiting for her when she was done. I had been in the waiting room for about an hour when the nurse came and told me she was awake and I could come back and see her. The second I saw her I had to fight back tears. It's terrible to see your mom so disoriented and helpless. I sat in the chair next to her and held her hand while she tried to wake up. Being pregnant and extra emotional it wasn't easy to hold it together! But we both made it. My mom being the super-woman that she is couldn't have made it look easier...I swear she's a saint. We stopped and picked up a few prescriptions on the way home, all the while me asking her not less than 20 times I'm sure, "are you okay, mom?" or "how are you feeling?...do you need anything?" I got her home, propped her up on the couch with a few pillows, helped take the gauze out (yuck.) and went through the meds schedule. About an hour later, Matt got home from work and stopped in to see how she was doing. She was tired, and we were going to dinner anyway, so we left. I felt guilty leaving, and again came the tears. My dad got home shortly after and all was well. On our way home from dinner Matt wanted to bring her a milkshake (such a sweetie!) and I was relieved to see that she was feeling much better...and the milkshake was a welcome surprise Ü Now it's soft foods and liquids for a few weeks while she heals!

*Tuesday - went to a follow-up appointment with my mom at the dentist today and everything looked great! She was feeling up for a little shopping so we went to Target and Fred Meyer and got a lot of stuff! I picked up a few things for the baby and got my niece and nephews a few new things for school. After dinner, we opened up the high chair, car seat and stroller and got everything put together! That was a lot of fun! I pushed the stroller around inside the house for awhile, scaring the dogs...they didn't know what to think! Oh, Jay also brought down the bassinet today since Holly is now too big for it, so that's in our room next to the bed! It makes me smile just looking at it Ü We also took a drive out to the house...all the windows are in, including the slider/french door in the back! The front door is teasing us, propped up against the side of the garage, and we're hoping that will be soon to follow. The shingles are sitting in stacks on the roof, waiting to be tacked on. Oh! And I can't believe I left this out but, this weekend we also got to pick out a lot of the interior items for our house! We picked all the flooring, including wood for the entry, dining room, hall, and kitchen, carpet for the living room and bedrooms, and vinyl for the bathrooms and utility room. We picked tiles for the back splashes in the kitchen and baths and tub surround in the master bath, and also picked counter tops for the kitchen and bathrooms! It was a blast...and miraculously, Matt and I agreed on everything! Who knew he had such great taste?! Ü

So that about sums it up. This was kind of a long post, and probably a tad boring with no pictures, but I feel like I needed to put the last 6 days of my Internet-free life down on paper...er, whatever. Regardless, it's good to back...and I hope to have some pictures for you soon!
