Well folks, he did it again. Yesterday I picked Lambeau up from the vet after yet another surgery to remove another rock. I know. Ridiculous. He is on total lockdown from now on. Of course he decides he needs to have surgery again when the weather starts to turn...since he has stitches he has to stay in the house all the time to keep them dry. I swear he does this on purpose...he wants to be a house dog so bad. As we speak, he's laying at my feet snoring away. I love this dog but, when I think about the money that we've spent in the last year saving him from this obsessive compulsion he has to eat rocks, I can't help but feel a bit angry at him. But, fortunately for him, Matt and I are the kind of people who feel our pets are part of our family, and not just an animal. We can't just let him go. Whether to another home, or something more permanant, neither of us have it in us to say good-bye (especially in my current state...I was sobbing just thinking about it). So, another surgery, another overnight stay at the vet, another round of meds, and another thousand dollars later, our beloved dog is back at home...rock-free. Yay.
Lambeau at 8 weeks...and this summer.

You had to go and post adorable pictures of him, too. He looks all sweet and innocent and goofy...Now Auntie Tiff can't even stay mad at him! Hey, what about pet insurance? Kory heard it was about 10 bucks a month and since he's a pretty healthy dog otherwise, might qualify...something to consider! Love you!
Ya know, we've looked into that, but since he seems to be a repeat offender, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't pay for it even if we did have the insurance. I guess it would be considered a "pre-existing condition." And yes, I felt the same way when I posted those pictures...I just had to smile. How can someone so cute be so naughty?!?!
Crapper! Very naughty bad dog!!! Did dad get to do the surgery? As far as pet insurance goes....I'm almost 100% that they wouldn't cover him due to his "pre-existing condition".....maybe he needs a lobotomy :) I think he really wants you to design a doggy room especially for him in the new house.....sneaky dogs!
Jess - Yes, thankfully your dad was able to do the surgery for Lambeau. Cut him open in the same spot as the last surgery! He joked about putting a titanium zipper in him for next time Ü But there better NOT be a next time!! I'm telling you, I think he's smarter than we think...he's been in 7th heaven hanging out in the house keeping his stitches dry. He's no dummy!
