It's the end of an era...

Today should have been declared a day of mourning, as I'm sure it was in many homes across the country. The state of Wisconsin probably came to a screeching halt this morning as the news broke...

Our beloved Brett Favre has announced his retirement.

Here are a few things you should know about the Legendary Green Bay Packer...

* In his first game with the Packers on Sept 20, 1992 he threw the game winning touchdown pass after coming off the bench to replace an injured Don Majkowski.

* In 1995 Packers vs. Bears, after a severe ankle sprain the previous week, Brett Favre threw for 336 yards and a career high 5 TD's. He then went on to win his first of 3 NFL MVP awards.

* One day after the passing of his father, when many people thought he wouldn't (and couldn't) play, Brett had one of his best games ever on Monday Night Football. He passed for 399 yards and 4 TD's in a very emotional blowout against the Raiders.

* He holds the record for most career NFL touchdown passes - 442
* He holds the record for most career NFL passing yards - 61,655
* He holds the record for most career pass completions - 5,377
* He holds the record for most career pass attempts - 8,758
* He holds the record for most consecutive starts for an NFL Quarterback - 275 inc. playoffs**
* He holds the record for most career victories as a starting QB - 160
* He is the only player in NFL history to have won 3 MVP awards.

**this record is especially amazing...Favre started every single game in his career from his very first game, to the very last. Didn't miss one...in 17 years. That's amazing.

We'll miss watching his child-like love for the game. We'll miss his charisma. We'll miss his gun-slinging, rocket-like arm. We'll miss the #4. Happy Retirement Brett Ü

Matt, if you need a sholder to cry on I am always here! He was one hell of a Freek! The Lions have room for one more fan if you would like to come over, I won't tell anyone.

You forgot he leads the league in interceptions and his last pass was an interception. Don't let Matt see this.
