Well, I'm a little late...about a week and a half...but our little girl is now 6 months old! She just had her 6 month check-up last week and it was heart-breaking! She's always been really good about getting her shots, but this time she was so much more aware of what was going on...and it was BAD. She was SOOO upset. She was looking at the nurse (Lindy, who we love by the way!) like "why did you just hurt me like that?"...huge tears, terror in her eyes, no sound coming out...it was awful. It didn't help that her appointment was right about her afternoon nap time (my bad!) and she was tired. Aside from the shots, I was so glad to finally see how much she weighed...and wouldn't ya know it, she weighed the EXACT same weight as she did at her 4 month check-up. Yah, strange eh? Well, they re-weighed her and came up with the same number, 13lb 3 oz. Since 13.3 lbs means she's almost exactly doubled her birth-weight, which is apparently what they're supposed to do around 6 months, we figure this is right, and her 4 month weight was wrong. Plus, this is a new scale, the other one was old...whatever. She's always been small so it kinda makes sense that her 4 month weight was wrong since I've never felt like she was ahead of the curve in the weight department.
In other news, Taylor has started drinking water from a sippy cup! Just tonight she finally figured out how to actually drink from it. The last week she's been chewing on the spout (which is a really cool soft silicone, so it's more like a bottle nipple to help them learn to drink from a cup faster) and water was coming out and just running down her chin...or she'd spit it all over the place just for fun! But tonight, she was actually drinking her water! She's just so darn grown up.
She's been doing pretty well at my mom's during the day while I've been working a few days a week. She loves to watch and play with the other kids and LOVES her Gramma and Papa. The first few days were pretty tough for me, but a little easier than I thought it was gonna be. I guess I just feel so lucky that I got to be home with her everyday for 6 whole months, and a few days a week isn't going to kill me. Plus, the interaction with other kids is really good for her. The only downside is that someone is always sick with a cold, flu, pink eye, or some other nastiness that I'd rather her not catch. But, I guess that comes with the territory of having a child and is only to get worse the older and more active she becomes. I'm not one of those parents that gives her a bath every time someone in the same room sneezes, but I just can't help but want to protect her from everything that will make her miserable. I guess my worries as a parent have only just begun...
The few days a week that I've been working I don't get home until atleast 830p, and some days have been almost 10p. Matt has been WONDERFUL with Taylor. He's really soaking up the daddy time that he gets with her and she hasn't skipped a beat. It is such a relief to not have to worry about what's going on at home while I'm not there. Matt is definitely a natural at the Daddy thing Ü
Lambeau's good. Loves his new back yard. No rocks as of late. *Knock on wood*
Well, that's about it for us. We're pretty boring huh?! Aside from a Sunday trip to Costco and mowing the lawn a few times, we really haven't been doing much the last few weeks since I've been working Friday and Saturday nights. One of these nights we want to get outside and use our fire-pit. We almost did last night...but then we decided to get a jump on our good night's sleep instead. We tried, but Taylor had other plans for us.
Well, I guess we're caught up. Told ya we're boring! Have a great week!

Sounds a lot like our life! Not boring... just a new kind of fun. Right?
Wow...6 months already! Crazy! And I have a 2 yr old (almost)!
Hey, thanks for the update! How are you liking your new job, beside the fact of long days? I've been thinking about you and hoping it's going okay!
