Leavenworth!

Gettin' ready to hit the road!
Aren't you guys ready yet?!
*We decided to take the scenic route on the way there, so we headed South thru Eatonville and Morton, hopped on Hwy 12 and headed over White Pass to Yakima. Then we headed North thru Ellensburg and up into Leavenworth. Let me just say that although it was a very pretty drive, we had no idea just how long it was going to take us to go this way. We left Yelm around 1120am, and got to Leavenworth at 4pm! Aside from a 1/2 hour stop at McD's in Yakima, we were driving the whole time!! It was beautiful, but a looooong drive! We went a different way home :) And Taylor being the good little traveler that she is, didn't complain the whole way, except when it was time for lunch!
Driver and navigator

Our passenger, about 1/2 hour into our drive...she slept for an hour and a half!
Our hotel from the street (and I even got the truck in the corner!)
Brrr...it was cold!!
The lights were awesome!
My two sweeties :)
Can you believe she still rides in the front-pack and likes it?!
She's such a trooper :)
Family photo in the gazebo...can you see us?!?
Tayor wasn't so sure of this big guy...
Gettin' ready for a dip in the hotel's indoor pool!
(she may have her daddy's eyes, but she's certainly got my legs! Ha!)
Walkin' around town this morning...
A very tired little girl...
I love these little mittens :)
Playing on a rock before we got in the truck and headed home!
Neat!
We love Leavenworth! We had such a blast in Leavenworth, and our fun didn't end there! On our way back, we decided to take Hwy 2 over Steven's Pass, so we could stop at the Seattle Premium Outlets in Marysville to do a little shopping. Then we stopped at The Olive Garden for dinner before heading home. It was such a great couple of days!
*****
The first thing we did after we pulled in the driveway was turn on our Christmas lights! As soon as we walked in the door, Taylor started running around the house...completely ecstatic and full of energy from being couped up in the truck and her stroller all weekend! While she played and played and played I went to work taking down all of my Fall decor, in preparation for putting up my Christmas decorations tomorrow! I am SOO excited! Being in Leavenworth has really put me in the Christmas spirit and I can't wait to get the house feeling cozy and Christmasy too. I know it's gonna be a lot of work...it always takes several hours without a crazy one year old running around...but it will be so worth it to sit down tomorrow night with a home and a heart full of Christmas joy :)

Looks like you had a great trip to Leavenworth. Those lights were great. We were only there during the day so we didn't see them like you did.

When we were driving out on HWY 97 Jayson said "I think we just passed Matt and Cara".

So funny! See you next weekend!

Looks like you guys had an amazing trip! Did you visit the Christmas store? I forget what it's called... I don't know if you do this for Taylor or not, but you can have Santa write her a personal letter. Check out santaclaushouse.com. I've done it ever since Nate was a baby. They can send multiple letters to one house so multiple kids don't get the same letter and it's mailed from the North Pole! (Alaska!)
PS: Jake was super sick over Thanksgiving. We took him to Valley and they transferred him to Swedish were I stayed for 2 1/2 nights. He lost 3.5 pounds and isn't keeping food down. They discharged him last night and he immediately puked. He thew up again this morning, but so far he has been able to keep some broth down from this afternoon... Please keep him in your prayers. They think he had just a terrible tummy bug. :( They're testing him for all kinds of viruses and bacteria but the results won't get back for 2 days to 3 weeks. :( Anyway, I'm glad you guys had a good Thanksgiving! ;)

Sounds like you had a great time. The pictures of Taylor and Holly are precious. I love the pink mittens too. Only having boys, it is nice to see a cute little girl in pink everyonce in awhile. :-) Girls have all the neat stuff. Glad to see you made it back safely. Enjoy your christmas decor.
