We've got a lot to catch up on!

Let's do this the easy way...I'll make a list. Seems like that will be the most efficient way of getting caught up on the last week...so here we go!

*Thursday - Taylor and I spent the day shopping with Tiffany and Avery at the South Center Mall! We had a blast as usual, and came home with a few gifts to check off my list! I have to say though, the new part of the mall is beautiful (except for the carpet...what were they thinking?!) but the stores were a little disappointing. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, or maybe because I'm a mom and hardly ever shop for myself, but I just wasn't that interested in much that was there. But, nevertheless, we had a FABULOUS time with our friends :)

*Friday - My mom and dad came over for pizza. Matt went out for drinks with friends after Taylor went to bed, and I stayed home on the couch and got caught up on all my favorite shows that I had recorded during the week! Might not sound like much to you, but I didn't mind at all! I had my Pomegranate Smirnoff Twister in hand, and I was a happy girl :)
*Saturday - we got up, had breakfast and then went to cut down our Christmas tree! The tree farm that I've been going to since I was a kid is literally 3 minutes from our house now, so we didn't have far to go. We had a great time hunting for our imperfect little tree! (Matt kept telling me after I'd veto one of his selections, "it's nature Cara, none of them are going to be perfect!) And Lambeau got to go too!
When we got home, Taylor went down for a nap and Matt and I started getting ready for the rest of our busy day. We had Jake's birthday party in Covington at 2pm, and Matt's work Christmas party in Chehalis at 5pm...and had to drop Taylor off at Grandma and Papa's inbetween! Yikes! Well, we made it to both and had a great time at both! Taylor had a ton of fun at Jakey's party and of course had a ball with Grandma and Papa! Matt and I went out and had a few drinks with some of his coworkers after the party and then headed home to a baby-less house. As exciting as that sounds, we never like going to bed and waking up without her here. It just feels like something's missing!

Sunday - I went and picked Taylor up and Matt slept in until the Packer game started at 10am. After the game (they lost another close one...oh, the agony!) we brought the tree in the house and started decorating while we watched the Seahawks lose. (Seriously...another loss in the last 2 minutes of the game by a turn-over...you guys are killin' me!!) I did most of the decorating while Matt kept Taylor occupied and away from the ornaments, but they put the finishing touch on the tree! Then Matt made a big pot of chili and we had a nice evening enjoying our tree :)

*Monday - After work, we came home and Taylor kept us entertained for the evening!

*Today - Taylor and I made monster cookies after breakfast! These are my absolute favorite cookies ever, and I am SO disappointed that they didn't turn out. I guess that's what I get for knowing I didn't have enough peanut butter and making them anyway. Oops! :) Later we'll go to the grocery store and get more PB and oatmeal (since I used the last of it on this batch..grr!) and trying again on Thursday. Bummer!

What a great "imperfect" tree... but... how can you cut a tree with no snow??? We probably have about a foot and a half after everyone's (except mine)snow day yesterday (read my blog - funny!) soooo it is gonna be the whitest Christmas I can remembr for a long time...
Not such a bad thing! If it is going to be cold, we might as well have snow! :D

Wow, you guys have been busy. It all sounds like a lot of fun.

We were sure happy to see you all last weekend, and I hope get together again soon!

Maybe we can do zoo lights together?
