Hide and seek

Taylor played hide and seek yesterday with my friend Christy's two daughters, Shelby and Ashley. She had so much fun! So what have we been up to today?! Yep, you guessed it! All day today, she's been covering her eyes and counting... 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13!! She comes and finds me, and then says "my turn, mama!" She hides in the same spot every time, and always has a huge smile on her face when I find her. She has no idea how painfully obvious her hiding places are! This is a fun new game that we're playing, and I see that it may have another positive side, too. When Mommy needs a break...well, I may just ask her to take up a game of hide-and-seek with me, and head for the back of my closet...where she's sure to not find me for atleast a good 10 minutes! You think I'm kidding...

As I was picking up tonight...every room in the house seemed a disaster, Taylor had a great time playing while I finished up the Christmas decorations (yes, I said Christmas decorations, and yes, I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet.)...I found her little backpack and decided to take a peek inside. Here's what I found...

*her blankie...the one I've been looking for...
*an invitation to Peter's birthday party that was Friday night
*several bead necklaces
*a notepad
*crayons
*a birthday card that plays "If you're happy and you know it"
*her cell phone
*several (used) gift cards...her "money"
*a Hello Kitty key chain from her BFF Avery
*a pink hair ribbon

She's such a girl :)

A few random side notes...

Last night in the car, I asked Taylor what she was thankful for.
She said "Avery."
I smiled...and blinked away a few happy Mama tears...
"I bet Avery's thankful for you too, punkin." :)

I'm 2/3 of the way done with my Christmas shopping...all of my nieces and nephews are done, and my mom and dad are both done. I usually start my shopping the day after Thanksgiving so this is totally new for me, and kinda fun! I've gotten a few little things for Taylor, and we know what her "big" present is going to be, we just have to tell Santa! Matt and I decided since we're going to Wisconsin for New Years (and to the Packers vs. Seahawks game!) that that would be our Christmas present to each other...we're just going to do each other's stockings. Easy! And fun! I love stuffing stockings! :)

I hope to have some pics for you soon. I've been a busy little bee lately and haven't been taking my camera with me anywhere. I'm sure I'll dust her off and put her to use this week for Thanksgiving, though :)

Jacob loves hide and seek too, but he can't count nearly that well. Taylor is so smart! Love the update!

When you texted me about what T said about Avery, I nearly cried. Definitely got a little teary. That was just soooo sweet. :)

and just as taylor is thankful for Avery, I'm thankful for you!

She is so smart! Lillie just recently started calling me Tina too. It seems to only happen when she is fighting for my attention over the other two kids.
