Gettin' in the groove of Christmas

I've been listening to Christmas music religiously for the last week (okay, 2 weeks) and just can't seem to get enough of it.
Which leads me to wonder...
what do you listen to at Christmas??
Are you a tradional Christmas song lover?
Or, do you prefer a more contemporary tune?
Instrumental?
Me, personally...I love them all!
And that's why I can't ever decide what to listen to.
For the last couple of years my favorite song has been
Sarah McLachlan's "Song For A Winter's Night"
LOVE that song.
It's so calming and peaceful.
Her voice, and the melody...beautiful.
However, how do you go wrong with
Silent Night,
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing or
God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman??
And then, there's the "winter" songs that I love to sing along to...
Sleigh Ride,
Jingle Bell Rock,
Winter Wonderland...
*sigh*
Sure wish I had more than a month to get my fix.
What's your favorite Christmas song??

Okay, don't laugh. I LOVE Celine Dion's Christmas album, "These are the special times." I had it cranked up the other day while the kids were napping!!!

and my current favorite is Alan Jackson's "Let it be Christmas." You have to listen to it... it's amazing!

So, I'm with you. I really don't think there is a Christmas song I don't like.

My favorite though is Amy Grant's "Tennessee Christmas" and "Love Has Come". Her songs totally take me back to my childhood. I think my mom had her "tapes" playing from Thanksgiving on.

I love Carol of the bells by the trans siberian orchetra... and Ash made 3 CDs when we were in college of all our favorite christmas songs... I listen to those over and over again. and Feliz Navidad... and Silent Night makes me cry every christmas eve when we sing it at church with all the lights out and our candles lit. I also love this time of the year.

Tiffany, I know you said not to...but I laughed! Sorry :)

Molly, I found that song and now it's one of my new favorites! LOVE it :)

Allissa, Brenda Lee reminds me of Home Alone!

Christina, I love Amy Grant, too!! Totally reminds me of being a kid...my mom had lots of good Christmas tapes, too :)

Erin, I do the same thing at church. All the kids process up the aisle to the front of the church while carrying their candles, the children's choir sings, and they lay baby Jesus in the manger, all while we all sing Silent Night...UGH! Gets me EVERY time! :)

Bruce Springsteens version of Santa Claus is coming to town, and Ray Charles' "Spirit of Christmas" (that being from the best Christmas movie, "Christmas Vacation.") are as good as it gets.

My favorites are of the vintage type: Bing, Nat King Cole (my fav), Frank, Dean, Charlie Brown, John Denver, Beach Boys, Johnny Mathis, the Nutcracker and old compilations etc. But...I have a bazillion Christmas CDs and try to get funky ones...and add new cds every year. I love my Barenaked Ladies one & Sarah MacLachlan. I also have the Temptations, Reggae, World Christmas and others. Time to get a new one! I think I'll get Sting's "winter one" and another reggae one!
