It's been a rough few days around here, but this morning
Taylor woke up without a fever!
Her nasty little cough is still lingering, but with her
nebulizer treatments 3 or 4 times a day,
we seem to be winning that battle.
We had to get creative after being cooped-up in the house all weekend, so we built a little race track with blocks and Taylor and I raced her little cars!
Daddy bought her a new set while she was sick too,
so we even had a few new ones to test drive.
Admiring our awesome track and thinking carefully about which cars to choose...
(haha, can you tell I'm a redneck NASCAR fan?!)
I chose the Ford GT, certain I had the horsepower to beat Taylor's yellow fire engine...
After all the racing excitement, it was time for her nebulizer...
Today has been a day spent changing sheets,
vacuuming, rearranging furniture,
sanitizing toys and doing laundry.
Now Taylor's taking a nap and my plan is to
watch The Bachelor from last night with a hot cup of coffee.
It's nice that things are getting back to normal around here.

And a quick note for Matt (who's in Indianapolis for work)...
We miss you already!
Hope you were able to get some sleep today
and enjoy your dinner out!
We love you!
xoxo

Awwww It's true though, they are so adorable when they are sick. My son (who is 4) had croop over the holidays - I have a picture of him sitting in the ER at 2am getting a breathing treatment - although it breaks my heart thinking back to how crazy that night was, I can't help but snicker at the look on his face while he's holding the mask.
Hope she feels better very soon. :)
So glad Taylor is starting to feel better!
Lillie woke up with an ugly cough around 2am, and I have to know... What's the secret to getting Taylor to use the nebulizer so well? We have had to use one off and on with Lillie since she was 3 months, and it has always been a struggle.
Oh no! I was hoping Lillie wasn't going to get sick, since they just played together the day before Taylor started coughing/fever. I hope she kicks it quickly. As for the nebulizer, Taylor's just always been really good about letting us do stuff with her. She takes vitamins, medicine, and does her breathing treatments like a champ most of the time. If she's not in the mood for it, I usually just turn on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and that does the trick! :) Good luck and I really hope Lillie doesn't get what Taylor had...it's no fun at all! :(
Every time I read your blog I think, "Oh, I really miss them." Some day our life will return to normal and even being an hour away will be like being neighbors!
glad she's on her way to getting better :)
Cara, so glad Taylor is feeling better! I loved this blog and your creativity on the race track, looks like you had a fun day!

Cara, you are so lucky that Taylor is so good about her meds/vitamins and breathing treatments. JK was our good one, Lillie is not. Even as a newborn getting shots the nurses joked that she was going to be a handful. They were right! Even so I wouldn't trade her for the world. She is so sweet (most of the time) and sooo much fun!
It really hadn't crossed my mind that Lillie could get sick when I saw your post. I just felt so bad for Taylor. Lillie does have a pretty nasty cough, and an icky nose, but no fever. Aside from the cough she is her normal little non-stop self.
We also love Mickey Mouse clubhouse. We look foward to it every morning!
