Yesterday was Arbor Day.
Normally, I don't pay much attention to this day...but this year was different.
Matt and I have been talking about planting some fruit trees in honor of our four little angel babies that we've lost in the last 2 years, and we thought 'what better day than on Arbor Day.'
So yesterday, my dad, Taylor and I went and picked out some trees, and later that evening we planted them.
She tried to help, but the swing kept calling her name. :) We planted 2 apple trees, one Pink Lady and one Fuji, one 4-way cherry tree, that grows 4 different kinds of cherries on the same tree...pretty cool!...and a Shiro Plum.
Beautiful and delicious!
After they were all in the ground, it finally hit me.
I'd been surprised that I hadn't gotten emotional through the whole process, but I guess I was just waiting for the finished product.
Looking at those four little trees brought back so many emotions that have been tucked away for quite some time.
After my second miscarriage my aunt sent me a card that said something like
'losing a child is like losing a piece of your heart...no matter how little time you had together, you loved them greatly, and that piece of your heart will never be returned.'
So true.

These little trees will bring us life every year.
And remind us of our little babys' lives that we loved...and lost. ♥
