One of those days...

So, today's been one of those days.
Well, atleast I thought it was gonna be one of those days.
I stayed up too late last night, was woken up much earlier than I wanted to be this morning, and only then remembered that I was out of coffee.
Matt stayed home sick from work and that always throws me for a loop. (I don't know why, but for some reason I can't just go about my business when he's home on days that he's not supposed to be.)
I've done 4 loads of laundry, made beds, cleaned up potty messes and several other things that could have made this day just another one of those days.
Except it wasn't.
I decided to make blueberry belgian waffles for breakfast this morning (I'm usually not that ambitious on weekdays) and they were delicious!
Then I got out the crockpot, picked apart a leftover rotisserie chicken and have chicken soup stewing away for dinner.
I took a little trip to the grocery store by myself.
All I'd been thinking about all morning was coffee (which was on my grocery list) and knew I'd be driving by my favorite drive-thru coffee stand on my way to the store. I'd convinced myself that I didn't need to spend the money today, but reeeally wanted one.
Oh well, a little sacrifice never killed anyone, right?
So, imagine my delight as I longingly drove past my little coffee stand and read their "Specials" board...
FREE 16oz. coffee from 8am-12pm.
Wait...it was 1147am.
It was free?!?
My 16oz. decaf non-fat toasted marshmallow mocha was free!!!
I turned into the nearest side street and turned my little Tahoe around!
*sigh*
With coffee in hand, I perused the grocery store like a woman without a care in the world.
I even got to pick out some Mother's Day cards.
And now, after grilled cheese for lunch, Matt and Taylor are both fast asleep.
I've got one more load of laundry to fold and I think I might just sit and watch an episode of Law & Order:SVU while I'm at it.
I tell ya, some days it's the unexpected little things that make all the difference. :)

It sounds like your day turned out great! And Tahoe? Did you get a new car? How exciting!
