O, happy day!

Thursday I celebrated my 33rd birthday, and it was a perfectly, sun-kissed day.
Taylor and I spent the morning playing outside and then I treated myself to a massage in the afternoon! After that it was BBQ'd burgers at my parents house with the family, and that was a lot of fun, as always. My mom always makes a homemade birthday cake (infact I can't ever remember a time where she's bought one) but she surprised me with a Dairy Queen cake this year and it was to die for! If you're in the market for a DQ cake, try the Buster Bar cake...ice cream, chocolate and peanuts...fabulous!!
I got some really nice gifts, several gift cards to my favorite places, and the most beautiful homemade cards from the kids! Jake's had a picture of the trail that we hiked last weekend, and each and every one of us was on it! So clever...and cute!
Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" and blew out candles twice...for Taylor. :)
It was another great evening with my family, and I was yet again reminded of just how fortunate we are to have each other.

Last night Matt arranged a little get together with some of our closest friends, and some of my favorite people! We ate, had a fire, played a few games and had a good time catching up and spending time together.

Thanks friends & family for a wonderful birthday week!
A special thanks to:
Nikki...for cake, flowers, balloons, streamers and more...at work!!
My mom...for a wonderful birthday evening. She does everything just right. :)
Tiffany...for the deliciously decadent dessert last night!
Monica...for the mac&cheese...a total hit! Need that recipe.
And for all the love and good wishes from near and far...
thank you!
It's gonna be a great year!

I'm so glad you had a great birthday, with great weather to accompany it all! :) Thanks for having us all over Friday night, too. :) xoxo
