Oh my goooodness!

Taylor and I made these little bites of heaven this morning...
They are deliciously divine!
deep dark chocolate drops
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (I used organic whole wheat flour)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
***
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Combine flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda in medium bowl.
*
2. Place 1/2 cup chocolate chips in microwave safe bowl and microwave on HIGH 1 minute; stir. Microwave an additional 30 seconds and stir until chips are melted and smooth. Let cool slightly.
*
3. Beat butter, sugar and brown sugar in large bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add melted chocolate, egg, milk and vanilla; beat until well blended. Add flour mixture; beat just until blended. Stir in remaining 1 cup chocolate chips.
*
4. Drop by spoonfuls 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 11 mins or until set and no longer shiny. Cool on cookie sheets 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

A few tips/variations...
*I doubled the recipe and it made about 4 dozen standard size cookies.
*For the choclate chips added in at the end, I used 1/2 semisweet and 1/2 white chocolate.
*Make sure you grease your cookie sheets before adding more dough...it's pretty sticky.
*I adjusted my baking time to add about 3 minutes. The first batch I left in for 11 minutes and, although they were gooey and soft how I like them, they were so soft that they fell apart on the cooling racks!

Enjoy!

*Just in case you're wondering, I have not abandoned my goal of limiting my sugar this week. I did eat 2 small cookies, but honestly, it's the first real "sweets" I've had all week! And I'm NOT eating any more! :)
