Thanksgiving & The Great Christmas Tree Hunt!

Cheri and Jay hosted another fantastic Thanksgiving feast this year...and we had a fabulous time celebrating with family, giving thanks for our health and our happiness, and watching the kids do their holiday thing!

Friday, I was up and out the door before 4am, and shopping shortly after.
Some may think we're crazy, but I got a lot of shopping done and found some really great deals!
I cut my shopping day short this year...my mom and aunts kept shopping after lunch and I headed home to spend the rest of the day putting up Christmas lights and finishing our decorating for Christmas.
I love the way the house looks this year!
I've never been happy with the way the outside entry looks, but this year, with the addition of a few new items, it looks great! :)

Saturday we got up, bundled up, and headed out to hunt for our perfect Christmas tree!
We don't normally get our tree this early, but we're heading to Pullman next weekend for the Apple Cup, and there's no way I'd wait 'til the middle of Decemeber to put my tree up, so...it was now or never!
It was the perfect morning for a Christmas tree hunt.
Crisp, cold, and clear.
Beautiful.
It didn't take us long to find it, and I think this might be my favorite tree yet!
This one's my favorite from the day...
I love the way she's looking at her Daddy! ♥
*****
Sunday was spent in true Grube fashion...in our respective team colors, watching football. It's just what we do. :)
With a roast in the crockpot, football on TV, the house lit-up and festive, and coffee in my cup, it was such a cozy day.
We were all looking forward to decorating our Christmas tree after dinner, but to our dismay...we couldn't find the lights!  I mean, I looked everywhere.  They're gone.  And for the life of me, I can not figure out what the heck happened to them?!
We don't remember tossing them out for any reason.
I looked in every tote and every box on every shelf in the garage.
I looked in every closet in the house.
They're nowhere to be found!
So today, I'm off to find some new lights for our tree...and tonight, after leftover roast for dinner, we will put on our Christmas music, brew up some instant hot cocoa and decorate our perfect family Christmas tree!

Happy Holiday Season everyone!

Awesome! Can't wait to do my decorations. Our tree will have to wait until after Jakey's birthday, though. One holiday at a time! So fun you are going to the Apple Cup. Can't wait to see you!
