But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift. RSV Ephesians 4:7

A few random things...
After our fabulous, fun-filled, relaxing Thanksgiving weekend we had a horrible Sunday evening. Taylor must've been overly tired or something...she was like a little, walking accident. First, she got her thumb pinched in the panty door, while pushing on the door with her other hand...I had to pull her away from the door to get her poor little thumb out! It was red and the skin was broken and she was SOOOO upset. Ya know when you hurt your finger and you shake your whole hand to try to get the pain to subside?? Well, her whole little body was shaking...very deliberately shaking, like her thumb hurt so bad she didn't know what to do. It broke my heart to see her crying so hard. :( THEN, not an hour later, after she had forgotten about her thumb, she was hiding behind Matt's chair in the living room when her feet got tangled up in a blanket that was on the floor, tripped and fell square on the speaker that was against the wall. I saw her do it and I froze. I thought for sure she was going to come out from behind that chair with blood squirting out of her head, or with only one eye, or something unimaginably horrible like that. Well, she came around the chair with a mouth-wide-open-but-nothing's-coming-out cry, her face was beet red, almost purple, and she had a gash with a big knot above her eye. Taylor also does what they call "Breath Holding Spells" where she gets so upset and doesn't take a breath when she's crying, and passes out. We've been dealing with this for several months now, and she's passed out several times, which is beyond scary (seeing a 10 month olds eyes roll back in her head feels like something out of a horror movie...). We've found that blowing in her face seems to help though (I guess it startles her into taking a breath), so for the second time that night, Matt was frantically blowing in her face to keep her from passing out. This is what she looked like after fighting with her to keep frozen peas on her forehead...

And here are a few pics of some of our Christmas decorations this year. The pictures don't do it justice at all...it really does look pretty! We're going to get our tree this weekend, which will add the final touch to the Christmas coziness :)

That's SO sad! I hope you guys have a better day shopping and seeing Santa, maybe...=)
Oh gosh! Poor little thing!! Frozen peas always do the trick :) I hope she's doing better!
I am so excited to Christmas shop. I don't even care if I don't find one present for anyone...I just need to get out and clear my head. I hope T's head is feeling better...see you tomorrow!
Don't you just HATE watching them fall? Case falls a lot... He fell out of the front seat of a minivan head first onto concrete when he was a baby and was ok. I think it was almost good for me because now his falls don't freak me out as much.
I can't believe Taylor passes out! That would scare me to death. Glad you learned the blowing in the face trick. Glad she is ok!
Tiffany - I totally agree...I think I'm just more excited to walk around the mall and chat with you and hang out with our girls than anything else! And Matt's going straight to the gym after work, so I won't even get in trouble for being late! :)
Christy - Oh my gosh, I'm so glad Case was okay...that must have been so incredibly scary for you. I can't even imagine...my heart totally broke seeing Taylor in pain. Ugh, it makes my heart hurt just thinking about those alligator tears! And yes, we are hoping she grows out of the breath-holding thing quickly...it's really no fun at all. If you can imagine her eyes rolling back in her head and her whole little body going limp, then you can imagine how scary it is. I know in my head that she's going to breath once she passes out because her reflexes will kick in, but the "what if" is the part that FREAKS ME OUT. What if she doesn't?? Anyway, thankfully it's been happening less frequently... Man, I'm tellin' you, I can feel the gray hairs growing already!
Awww... poor little girl... in that second picture of her owie though??? OMG. she looks just like Matthew did at that age!! I always thinks she looks more Peterson but the Grube wins out in that picture!! Enjoy your shopping excursion!!
Ahhh...poor baby girl! I hate the quiet crying because you know its really gotta damn hurt! That IS scary about her passing out thing. Yikes! I didn't know she was doing that. Kids....they sure know how to keep you on your toes!
Alyssa used to hold her breath and pass out all of the time. I got used to it after a while, but it still scared me none the less when she did it. One time we had gone into Albertson's to get 2 items. I grabbed a handbasket and Alyssa wanted a cart so she could ride and that was all it took. She started to cry and held her breath as she walked right smack into the shelves and passed out. Everyone around me started yelling call 911. Thank goodness she outgrew that phase.
