Friday night we had our first neighborhood Progressive Dinner with 4 of our neighbors! We had an absolute blast! We are so lucky to have neighbors that we call friends...that we want to spend time with and have fun when we do!
If you're not familiar with how a Progressive Dinner works, here's the low-down.
We had 5 families, so we had a 5 course meal. Each family picks one course {we drew from a hat to make it fair} and also makes a drink of their choice. On the evening of the dinner, everyone brings their plates, silverware, etc. to each other's houses in order of which course they drew. For example, we started out with an appetizer at Tim and Terri's house...a delicious Brie dip and champagne. When we were ready to move on, we all headed two houses down to the Elwell's for our second course, soup/salad. Olga made a super yummy potato soup and had wine to accompany it. Then we headed next door to Chris and Brittnee's for a side dish and Jager Bombs! {I think this was the point where we all started to get a bit...giggly. :) } After that, everyone walked across the street to our house to enjoy a very tasty beef brisket that had been slow cooking for 7 hours...and a little "Null 'n Void" punch that Matt mixed up in the big drink cooler. It pretty much went down like Kool Aid. ;) And lastly, we walked next door to Joe and Kristin's for dessert. {Since Kristin's 6 1/2 months pregnant, we told her she didn't have to make drinks for all of us. We brought the Igloo full of punch over instead. :)}
It was a super fun night with our super fun neighbors, and this is definitely a tradition that we all look forward to continuing!

We love you, Miss Avery!
