Thirty four...

After my last post detailing how my birthday morning had started out as somewhat of a comedy of errors, I am happy to report that things got infinitely better from that point, on!
My family got together at my parents house for pizza and strawberry shortcake, cake, candles and ice cream, presents, basketball, wrestling and lots of laughs and good times.  Turns out that a little family time was all that I needed to turn things around. :)

Taylor has been begging to have her cousins over for a sleep-over for a while now, so after the celebration Abbie, Peter and Holly came home with us to spend the night!  We didn't get home until after 9pm, so half-way through The Princess and the Frog we ended up calling it a night.  We got up in the morning and had whole wheat chocolate chip pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast...fabulous!  The sun was shining bright and all of us wanted to get outside, so we called Jay, he brought all their bikes over and we hit the trail for a nice, leisurely {read slooow} bike ride.  After some playtime in the sun at home it was nap time for Taylor and Matt.  I couldn't stand to be in the house on such a gorgeous day, so I decided to jump back on my bike and go for a ride that would actually get my heart pumping! {Riding with Holly and Taylor isn't what you'd call productive in the way of exercise...unless stopping constantly in someway burns extra calories...}  I rode for about 45 minutes, a little under 10 miles and loved every second of it!  I came back with a little bit of a sunburn on my face and arms, but I certainly didn't mind.  And I can. not. wait. to get back out there when the sun decides to come back...or atleast the rain decides to go away.
Taylor had another sleep over with the kids last night {this time at their house} so Matt and I could go out with some friends to celebrate my birthday at one of my favorite restaurants, Mama Stortini's!  The food was sooo good, the drinks were fabulous, the laughs were plenty, and the company was superb!  We had such a great time with some of our very favorite people!

{Apparently I missed the memo on black/gray/white attire! :)}

Today has been a lazy kind of day.
Coffee, rain, sweatpants and cartoons...and that's about it.
There's a roast simmering in the crockpot, my meal plan for the week is complete, and I'm happy to wrap up a weekend that is sure to be among my favorites in the memory book.
{This weekend also got me really excited to spend four fun days over Memorial Day weekend in Crescent Bar with the Remferts!  Eeek...can't wait!!}

Thanks for a super fun weekend, friends and family...and my hubby, especially!!  It was just plain awesome! :)
Love you all to pieces! xo
